2009 Pinot GrigioVQA Niagara PeninsulaSOLD OUT

Tasting Notes

An aromatic delight. Highly aromatic, especially for a Pinot Grigio, nuances of a floral bouquet dominate the nose with underlying citrus characters of mandarin orange, honey crisp apple and a hint of smokiness. The fresh palate is lively with ripe succulent grapefruit zest accompanied by citrus and floral tones with cashew. A very soft touch of sweetness simply adds weight to the palate. A long, dry finish ensues with fruit and floral sensations. Enjoy with appetisers, fish, chicken, poultry, seafood, pork, mild to medium bodied hard cheeses, toasted nuts especially almonds, or on its own.

4 stars - Staff has finished this wine with a bit more residual sugar than her debut effort. The result is lifted apple-melon fruit with an added burst of sweet canned pear fruit on the palate. Might be an idea to call it Pinot Gris, to fit the style.
